MCS is celebrating another year of exceptional I/GCSE results, with more than two thirds of entries at A* and record results across STEM subjects and History.

  • 75% A*
  • 95% A*-A
  • Record results across STEM subjects: 93% A* in Maths, 91% A* Physics, 85% A* Biology, 82% A* Chemistry
  • Record year for History: 83% A*
  • 26 boys achieve 10 or more A*s
  • 58 boys gain 8 A*s or better
  • Year group of 99

These record-breaking results come in a year group in which pupils have also recorded outstanding team and individual achievements across the sports, including reaching the semi-final of the Lord’s Taverners Cricket Cup and the last 16 of the NatWest Schools Rugby Cup. This year, Fifth Formers have also represented Wasps Rugby and Gloucestershire Cricket Academy.

Miss Helen Pike, the new Master, said: “I am delighted to see that a year group which has excelled on the sports field has done the same in the examination hall. These results are also a tribute to the teachers and parents who have supported them every step of the way. I look forward to getting to know these pupils, and those who will be joining them, during their Sixth Form years.”

These GCSE results come on the back of another year of outstanding achievements at A-Level:

  • 50% A*
  • 89% A*-A
  • 99% A*-B
