Every department at MCS runs day trips each year, both as part of the curriculum and for extension. Regular destinations include Lulworth Cove (Geography), the Roman Baths at Bath (Classics), Kew Gardens (Art), the British Library (History), the Houses of Parliament (Politics) and the Natural History Museum (Biology).

We also run a broad range of residential trips throughout the year. The experiences they provide to our pupils are both academically enriching and culturally exciting. We have a track record of running excellent residential trips abroad to India (Geography), Greece and Italy (Classics) and New York (Art), as well as destinations in the UK such as Northumberland, North Wales and Devon. Meanwhile, the Sports department offers pre-season UK residentials, as well as international tours – including, recently, to Portugal, South Africa and Sri Lanka. Our musicians typically enjoy an overseas tour – for example, to the Loire Valley – while our actors usually perform at the Edinburgh Fringe, or at festivals in the South West.
