Exam Results & Destinations

Our 2026 leavers celebrated an excellent set of A Level results. The school is delighted to report that 97% of grades were awarded at A*-B, with 82% at A*-A and 43% at A*. The most common grade awarded to MCS pupils was A*, and 70% of the cohort (117) attained 3 A*s or more. All pupils in receipt of full bursaries achieved grade A* or A in all their subjects.

Pupils will be heading to some of the UK’s top universities including Oxford, Cambridge and Durham to read subjects ranging from Natural Sciences to Music. In total, 41 pupils from the 2026 cohort will be heading to Oxbridge, while 24 have secured places to study Medicine.

Master Helen Pike said: “We are delighted to congratulate our pupils on their outstanding success in this year’s A Level examinations. Their results reflect not only their academic talents and intellectual curiosity, but also their determination, resilience – and the support they have received from their teachers, families and the wider MCS community. Beyond their studies, they have made a tremendous contribution to the life of the school, embracing opportunities, supporting others and helping our community to flourish. It has been a privilege to see them grow and develop during their time with us, and we look forward to seeing all they will achieve in the years ahead.”

This year’s results brought many individual success stories, including our Heads of School, Zara and Thomas, who each achieved three A*s and an A and will study Medicine at Cambridge University and Natural Sciences at Durham respectively. Kevin, who recently won Gold representing the UK at the International Mathematical Olympiad in Shanghai, achieved five A*s and will study Computer Science at Cambridge University, while Freya, a talented star of our recent Singin’ in the Rain and Sherlock Holmes and the Napoleon of Crime productions, will study Theology at Oxford University. Our sports captains Sophie, Ross, Wendy, Louis, Tom, Alex, Ana, Zach, Rishi, Becky, Saralynn, Taran, Zahra and Rosie all secured at least three A*/A grades alongside representing MCS at the highest levels in their sports. Lixuan, our First Violinist, achieved three A*s and an A and will study Medicine at Cambridge University, while Adam, a tenor who performed solos at the Sheldonian Theatre and Madrigals, will study Music at Oxford University. Olivia, who came top in our Waynflete Studies extended research programme for her work on bats and viruses, achieved two A*s and two As and will study Natural Sciences at Cambridge.
