MCS pupils Myron and Archie have launched a charity CD – LOVE IS. – to raise funds for childhood cancer research.

Kasper, one of our Fifth Form boys and brother to Myron, has been diagnosed with an aggressive childhood cancer. Having witnessed Kasper’s gruelling treatment first-hand, the boys joined with professional musicians to raise desperately needed funds for childhood cancer research. The result is a unique musical collaboration, sung in 5 languages and premiering exceptional arrangements written for the pair.

400 years of music, 70 minutes, 5 languages, 2 boys and 1 purpose: to raise money for childhood cancer research

About the CD

Lockdown presented such obstacles to rehearsing and recording that there were times when completing the project before the boys’ voices changed seemed impossible.

Archie and Myron have been supported by musical talents such as Michael Haslam, who wrote a unique set of arrangements especially for them, the Gabriel Quartet, pianist Maki Sekiya, organists Alex Pott and Daniel Matheson, and the producers and sound engineers who have made this unique project possible.

How can I help?

The presentation digi-pak LOVE IS. CD is now available for pre-sales here.

As well as raising money for the Childhood Cancer Research Trust, any purchases of the CD using the above link, will raise £4 per CD for the Mustardseed Junior School in Uganda.

We share Kasper’s hope that as many people as possible will support the project by buying the CD for themselves, for loved ones and by forwarding and sharing the link with others. Kasper says, “My own survival is not in my control but what I do know is definitely possible, is making a positive difference to the outcomes of children who come after me.”

We hope the whole MCS community will get behind the boys’ efforts – well done Myron and Archie!
