Last week, we welcomed a new member of the Biology department in the form of Monty the snake, a Royal Python.

He was given to us by a pupil who had to return abroad at the start of lockdown and, due to import regulations, Monty was unable to join him. Luckily, he has found a new home here at MCS.

Monty is very tame and easy to handle, so pupils and staff are able to hold him. He is a constrictor snake, so not venomous, and eats one dead rat per week.

Here he is meeting the Master on Friday:

Monty, we hope you are settling in and welcome to MCS(ssssss)!
