On Friday 11 September, we welcomed award-winning science journalist Angela Saini to a Zoom event, in conversation with the Master, Helen Pike.

Pupils from MCS and a number of local schools were treated to an enlightening discussion, covering everything from the science of race, to the disproportionate impact of Covid19 on the BAME community. The floor was then open for questions, and pupils enjoyed the opportunity to learn from Angela’s research and ideas on these important topics.

Angela Saini is an award-winning science journalist who holds Masters degrees in Engineering from The University of Oxford, and in Science and Security from King’s College London.

Her latest book, Superior: The Return of Race Science, was one of Nature’s top ten books of 2019 and won the Transmission Prize. It was also named a book of the year by the Financial Times, Guardian, The Telegraph and Sunday Times.
