Magdalen College School is delighted to announce that it has become only the second school to achieve EnCO Organisation status.

The Energy Conscious Organisation is a global, non-for-profit initiative run by the Energy Services and Technology Association (ESTA), in conjunction with the Energy Institute. Valid for three years, status was granted to the school after we successfully demonstrated that we have reduced our energy consumption through the implementation of a range of behavioural changes across the MCS community.

Local energy management consultant and EnCO practitioner, Wendy Cheeseman, has been working alongside the school throughout the project. With her guidance and support, we have improved our energy efficiency as part of EnCOs aim to generate a minimum of 10% in energy reduction savings through behavioural change by 2030.

We received the accreditation certificate – along with an award recognising our efforts – at the annual EnCO conference held at the Energy Institute in London at the end of 2023.
