Pupils at Magdalen College School are celebrating another excellent set of GCSE results. The school is delighted to report that 54% of all grades were a 9, 82% grades 9-8, 94% grades 9-7 and 99% grades 9-6. 39 pupils achieved straight 9-8 grades.

Master Helen Pike said ‘This is a strong showing from a year group which has been judged against pre-pandemic standards despite having studied for these exams during it. I look forward to seeing all that they contribute to the MCS and the wider community during their Sixth Form studies.’

The cohort’s outstanding GCSE results are just one highlight of what has been a wonderfully successful year across an extraordinarily wide range of co-curricular activities: to give one example, on 26 April 2023, the U16 hockey team were runners-up in the Tier 1 National Hockey Championships at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre, London.

Individual successes include twins Ethan and Marcus, who achieved an astonishing 18 grade 9s between them, and Benjamin, Bert Chun, Judd, Kaylan, Oscar, Samanyu and William, who all received 10 grade 9s.
