On Friday 23rd June, Founders’ Day returned for a day of fundraising, with a range of activities taking place across the year groups. Over 600 pupils and staff took part in the events, which included a skills exchange, sponsored walk, and charity fair.

The morning began with the Lower Sixth and Second Form participating in a skills exchange, teaching and sharing skills relating to Chess, Magic, Music, Minecraft, Coding, Science and Netball. Meanwhile, a number Upper Fourth pupils assisted with gardening at Headington Hill Park, where they pruned back overgrown ivy and planted flowers. The remainder of the Upper Fourth and the Lower Fourth took part in a sponsored walk, following the Thames Path from Clifton Hampden back to school.

In the afternoon, the Second Form and Third Form helped organise a charity fair, with a variety of traditional funfair games on offer. Pupils had the opportunity to try their luck a coconut shy and ‘splat the rat’ as well as mini golf, darts, bottle-flipping, tug-of-war and ‘beat the batsman’.

The Lower Sixth started the ‘1480 Challenge’, aiming to walk, run, row or cycle 1,480km collectively as a year group.
