Touring
Alongside a busy programme of annual UK-based tours, our focus sports follow a rotational international touring schedule, with a major overseas tour taking place each year. This ensures that each focus sport benefits from an international tour every three years.
Our touring programme is designed to give as many pupils as possible the opportunity to travel, compete and experience different sporting cultures. We aim for every pupil to enjoy both a Junior and a Senior touring opportunity during their time at MCS.
Recent international tours have included rugby and hockey tours to South Africa, as well as a cricket tour to Sri Lanka. These experiences provide invaluable opportunities for sporting development, cultural enrichment and team building.
In addition to international tours, a number of domestic tours and festivals take place throughout the year, including:
- U12 – Year Group PGL Adventure Trip
- U13 – Gresham’s Hockey Festival
- U14 – Somerset Rugby Tour
Additional trips are organised periodically for sports such as skiing, golf and rowing, offering further opportunities for pupils to develop their skills, broaden their experiences and represent the school.
