12 September 1938 – December 2021
We were informed by his son John of the death of Ian Edward Turner in December 2021. John has sent us these words about his father.
After school, he served an apprenticeship at the British Thomson Houston Company (BTH) in Rugby. He subsequently worked in IT, many years for GEC.
He married Betty in 1961 – they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2021. They had two children: John and Penny.
Following on from being a Cub Scout at MCS, my dad was a scout leader and scout leader trainer for many years. He was also interested in motorsports and was actively involved as a marshal.
In later life he enjoyed gardening and was a steam railway enthusiast.
We send our condolences to John, Penny and Ian’s other family and friends.
