Yesterday, the J4 pupils enjoyed a talk from Christo Brand in the Junior School, with 6 local schools (and over 210 children) joining us virtually as our guests. We were delighted to welcome pupils from Wheatley Primary, Brill Primary, St Christopher’s Primary, St Barnabas Primary, St John Fisher Primary and St Francis Primary.

Christo Brand was one of Nelson Mandela’s jailors – and subsequently his friend – while Mandela was imprisoned on Robben Island. He is the author of the book Doing Life with Mandela – My Prisoner, My Friend.

His talk, entitled Lessons from a Warder and his Prisoner, was a fascinating look at key experiences and lessons from his journey with Mandela with some incredibly perceptive questions from the children in the Q&A session at the end.
