We are very much looking forward to meeting you at our Open Morning. Ahead of the event, we have gathered some information to give you a glimpse of life in the Senior School before you come and experience it for yourself. We invite you to submit a question for the Master below if there is anything you’d like to ask.
We hope your visit gives you a real sense of the warmth, energy and opportunities that make MCS such a special place.
Before joining us at the Open Morning, we encourage you to look at the videos and information below to discover more about the unique blend of academic challenge and caring pastoral support on offer at MCS. We look forward to welcoming you and sharing even more of what makes our community so special.
We offer a range of entry points, depending on your child’s current school and age. Pupils applying for Year 7 join us through our 11+ admissions process. Those interested in joining Year 9 can either take our 13+ entrance tests (when in Year 8) or, if they currently attend a prep school, would sit our Pre-tests (when in Year 6).
We are excited that during the coming decade MCS will become fully co-educational, offering places to high-achieving boys and girls as we prepare for our 550th anniversary in 2030. Girls will join Year 3 and Year 4 from September 2027 and Year 7 from 2030.
We are committed to ensuring an MCS education is open to the brightest pupils, no matter their personal circumstances. We do this by offering financial help with fees to families through our means-tested bursary scheme.
If you would like to find out more about this, please come and speak to our Admissions team or to Bursar, Mrs Nicholson, at the Open Morning. They will be based in the Dining Hall and will be happy to chat to you after your tour.

The registration deadline for 11+ or 13+ entry in September 2027 (or Pre-test entry in September 2029 for prep school applicants) is 31 October 2026.
The Admissions Manager for the Senior School, Emma Bolton, will be on hand throughout to guide you through the process. If you have any questions at all, please just email her on [email protected].
If you or anyone accompanying you on your visit has an allergy, or if you carry any life-saving or emergency medication that we should be aware of during your visit, please let us know by emailing [email protected].
In advance of your visit you may wish to take a look at our MCS Visitor Safeguarding And Safety Notice and our Allergy and Anaphylaxis Policy.
Please let us know in advance if there is a question that you would like to put to the Master, or our pupil panel, during the talks. If you are happy to leave your name and email address we will endeavour to ensure that the question is addressed during the session you attend, or if time prohibits, we will come back to you after the event.
