Inspired by the MCS-MJS partnership’s forging of connections across the world, over the last year our charity committee have been compiling an MCS charity recipe book in aid of Mustardseed Junior School.

We are grateful to those students, parents, staff, and OWs who sent in such a brilliant range of recipes, and are now very proud to offer you the chance to be one of the first owners of this limited-edition recipe book. Our pupils have put great efforts into making it really special, containing illustrations from art scholars and lower school pupils, with a cover designed by Sixth Form artists.

There is a phenomenal range of recipes and cuisines within: a tantalising Mexican breakfast feast; delicious Jerusalem Artichoke soup; Pappardelle with Beef Shin Ragu; and, of course, many sweet treats. This recipe book represents a slice of our community during an especially difficult, fragmented year and many of our recipes give voice to those family connections: from Granny Vanessa’s roast lamb marinade to Nigerian Jollof Rice. With over forty-five recipes, there will certainly be something for everyone – and it will make a wonderful Christmas gift!

All proceeds from this student-led project will go towards funding bursaries at our partner school, Mustardseed Junior School in Sentema, Uganda. Thanks to Sir Vernon Ellis’ (OW) generous matching pledge, every pound we raise will be doubled.

The recipe book is available for ÂŁ10. If you feel able to also donate ÂŁ4 to cover the production cost, this will make a great difference to how much we can pass onto Mustardseed.

  • For current MCS parents, please use this form to request your copy and have the cost be added onto your school bill.
  • For other members of our community, please use the form below to request your copy and make payment. Note that ÂŁ4 is included for UK postage. Should you wish to order more than one copy or request international postage, please get in touch with the Waynflete Office.

Recipe books will be posted out by early January, though hopefully before.

Thank you for supporting Mustardseed Junior School through this project.
