Junior School pupils enjoyed a morning of creative House fun during this year’s Founders’ Day celebrations, coming together to raise funds for Mustardseed Junior School, our international partner primary school in Sentema, Uganda.

Pupils stepped away from their usual timetable and joined their Houses for a series of activities designed and led by each House. Dressed in their House colours, pupils rotated through a variety of challenges, including football skills, continuous soccer, railway cricket and dodgeball, alongside a scavenger hunt and medieval board games inspired by the theme of 1480. There was plenty of energy, teamwork and friendly competition through the morning.

Founders’ Day is an opportunity for pupils to reflect on the vision of our founder, William Waynflete, whose belief in the transformative power of education continues to shape our community today. By supporting Mustardseed School, pupils are helping to carry forward that same commitment to creating opportunities through learning. This year’s fundraising is particularly meaningful, as a group of Sixth Form pupils and staff will visit Mustardseed School over the summer, including Mr Terry, Junior School Deputy Head Academic, who is looking forward to spending time with the school community.

As part of the fundraising, pupils have also been invited to take on a 1480-themed challenge at home. Whether completing an activity for 1,480 seconds or creating their own sponsored challenge, they are encouraged to get creative and help support this important cause.

We welcome families and friends to support Mustardseed School through a donation, however big or small. Every contribution will go a long way in Uganda and will be gratefully received by all involved.
