Our Junior School pupils were out in full force today cheering on the cyclists in the AJ Bell Women’s Tour as they raced past The Plain roundabout. Stage One of the tour took the nearly 100 competitors along a 147.7km route starting in the Bicester’s Market Square, along a historic town trail including Oxford, before heading north to finish in the market town of Banbury on the River Cherwell.

It was a great opportunity for the boys to see a live sporting event up close, and we’re sure all the cyclists heard their passionate chants of support! Former world champion Marta Bastianelli claimed victory on the first stage here in Oxfordshire, with five stages remaining before the tour concludes in Felixstowe, Suffolk on 9th October.
