Last night our Junior School Chamber Choir joined voices with the Magdalen Sixth Choir in the beautiful setting of Hertford College Chapel to sing Choral Evensong. The Junior School Chamber Choir gave a riveting performance of the canticles for the evening: George Dyson’s Service in C minor, balancing the ferocity of the opening Magnificat with the tenderness of the Nunc Dimittis.

Both the Junior School Chamber Choir and the Magdalen Sixth Choir sang together in a spellbinding performance of John Rutter’s setting of the famous text For the Beauty of the Earth. It was a great experience for both choirs, and organists, to sing and play together.

It was an experience that all members of the choir and congregation will remember for years to come. We very much look forward to singing there again soon!
