Our pupils and the diversity of excellence is at the heart of what makes MCS special.

As part of the MCS community, we are inviting you to come together in this current crisis to support hardship and bursaries for current and future pupils through our Conveniamus campaign. This will enable us to offer hardship grants to those who are temporarily but genuinely and profoundly affected by the implications of the virus, and ensure long-term success of the pupils and school by allowing MCS to teach an outstanding cohort of students each year, drawn from all parts of society.

We recognise that these are uncertain times for all of us, not least financially. But MCS is a strong community and if anyone can get through this, we can.

Every gift up to £50,000 has been matched by an OW donor in former teacher Nigel Bates’s memory, as part of our summer 2020 Conveniamus fundraising campaign. We are delighted to announce that a second OW, who joined MCS in 1945, has come forward to match an additional £25,000 in gifts made to the campaign.

Our Donor Report shows how much your support contributes to MCS.

We work in partnership with many community organisations in Oxford, also summarised in the Donor Report. Many of our donors help to support these partnership activities.

How to contact us

The Waynflete Office is now back onsite at MCS full-time.

The best way to contact the Waynflete Office is by email: or on our interim phone number – 07501 373933.

To contact a specific member of the team, please find details here.

The Waynflete Office was established in 2015 to strengthen relationships between the school and Old Waynfletes, current and past parents, and other supporters of the school around the world. With about 160 pupils becoming Old Waynfletes each year and about 300 parents becoming Friends of MCS as their child leaves, the community around MCS is growing faster than at any point in our history.

The School is stronger for these relationships – expertise on new initiatives, talks, lectures, financial support, gifts in kind and advocacy – all help the school to maintain its outstanding achievements and leading voice in the school sector and in Oxford.

Through our digital communications, publications and events, the office aims to keep in touch with all those with an interest in the school and to ask for their support, particularly in our 2030 initiatives.

The office is led by its Director, Susie Baker, who works closely with Alan Cooper, Director of Alumni Relations, a retired maths teacher who has taught at MCS for more than three decades.

The work of the office is reported to Governors through the Development Committee. The school has registered with the Fundraising Regulator and the Fundraising Preference Service.

All donations are processed by Magdalen College School (using Blackbaud Merchant Services for card payments). Your kind gift will be held in the specific MCS fund whose purposes most closely correspond to the area you wish to support and shall then be applied in accordance with the purposes of the relevant fund.
