Recent leavers and the Class of 2017 returned to the School on the 9th September for a football match, followed by a curry lunch. This was a great opportunity for them to meet up before the start of the University term, and for many it was their first event as a new ‘Old Waynflete’.
Once again the recent leavers OW football provided an entertaining and enjoyable match. In an open game played with great sportsmanship and variety of skills, the most recent leavers lost 9-5 to the more experienced team, who also provided the highlight of the match -a restart lob to score from the half-way line by Hugo Glass. It was great to see over a hundred young OWs at the match and curry lunch afterwards.
