The School was informed that Oliver died on 17 March 2013 in Oxford. On leaving MCS he worked for Basil Blackwell, whom he described as a guardian figure in his life. Following his time there, he went on to manage one of the two antiquarian bookshops in Turl Street for some 17 years. He had been a hugely generous supporter of the school during his life, as well as a benevolent landlord to the tenants in his house in North Oxford – preferring the right person to a market-rate rent. On his death, Oliver left a substantial legacy to MCS, for which we are hugely grateful.
