Victor Nigel Ferriman left MCS in 1944 and joined the RNVR (Naval Fleet Arm). His first posting was to Edinburgh University on a six month introductory course in aeronautical study followed by a further six months at Loughborough College.
Nigel later attended Loughborough college to study aeronautical engineering. He graduated in 1951 and had a successful career at Bristol Siddeley and then Rolls Royce (Future Projects Dept at Ansty, Coventry) working on Admiralty and US Naval research projects.
