Brian Cairns, OW (1948) died on Thursday 9th April 2020 at a care home, amidst the Coronavirus Pandemic. Brian leaves behind him his wife of 52 years, Margaret, and six children.
Brian and his wife, Margaret, kept in close communication with MCS. In her letter to MCS announcing Brian’s death, Margaret mentioned how “Brian always credited his success in life with the brilliant start that he received at Magdalen College School”, and how much they had enjoyed visiting MCS in recent years to attend Madrigals on the Cherwell.
Brian’s family asked that the following be included here:
Brian Cairns OW, Honorary MA, former Principal of Maryland College, Woburn and artist, died on Thursday 9 April 2020 at a care home amidst the Coronavirus pandemic. Brian leaves behind him his wife of 52 years — Margaret, six children – four from a previous marriage to Brenda Ellis, four sons-in-law and two daughters-in-law and 11 grandchildren.
