Alan Tammadge, Master of MCS from 1967 to 1971, passed away on 25 February 2016 at the age of 94.

In 1971, school magazine The Lily paid tribute to his headship, describing him as a ‘stimulating teacher’ and a ‘firm, but fair and approachable leader, championing with humour and reason his preference for short hair, tidy appearance, universal games and a thriving CCF’.

Tammadge went on to become Headmaster of Sevenoaks School in Kent.
