Saturday 19 September 2026 | 9.00am - 2.00pm

Welcome

We are very much looking forward to meeting you at our Open Morning. Ahead of the event, we have gathered some information to give you a glimpse of life in the Sixth Form before you come and experience it for yourself. We invite you to submit a question for the Master below if there is anything you’d like to ask.

We hope your visit gives you a real sense of the warmth, energy and opportunities that make MCS such a special place.

Learn more about us before your visit

Before joining us at the Open Morning, we encourage you to look at the videos and information below to discover more about the unique blend of academic challenge and caring pastoral support on offer at MCS. We look forward to welcoming you and sharing even more of what makes our community so special.

Our admissions process

All applicants are invited to attend our entrance tests on Saturday 7th November, where they will sit a Verbal Reasoning test and two subject-based assessments linked to their proposed A Level choices. The tests are designed to assess potential and academic promise rather than require extensive preparation.

Based on their performance in the entrance tests, selected candidates are invited to the interview day on Saturday 28th November. They will have two interviews: a general interview and a subject interview with specialist teachers. Our admissions process looks at the whole picture of each applicant, including their tests, interviews, school reference and wider interests, helping us identify students who will thrive both academically and as members of the MCS community.

Help with fees

We are committed to ensuring an MCS education is open to the brightest pupils, no matter their personal circumstances. We do this by offering financial help with fees to families through our means-tested bursary scheme.

If you would like to find out more about this, please come and speak to our Admissions team or to Bursar, Mrs Nicholson, at the Open Morning. They will be based in the Dining Hall and will be happy to chat to you after your tour.
