Upper Sixth twins Hugo and Elliott have taken on the roles of sworn enemies Valjean and Javert in the MCS production of Les Misérables.

The play will be their last production at MCS.

Mr Thomas, Director of Drama, said: “When we saw their audition films we knew straight away we had our Valjean and Javert. These two iconic characters are some of the most challenging in musical theatre but the boys rose magnificently to the challenge and gave incredibly professional and moving performances.”

The boys previously played Tybalt and Mercutio in the MCS production of Romeo & Juliet in December, so it was only fair Hugo got to exact his revenge.

"I suppose I had to let Hugo get his revenge this time after murdering him in Romeo and Juliet in December (Hugo – Mercutio and Elliott - Tybalt)!

The production will be available to watch as a film for pupils and their families shortly.
