Congratulations to Joshua Wade and Joseph Foster (both 2012) who ran the 2018 Rome Marathon in aid of The African Gifted Foundation. The charity runs an all-girls sixth form college in Ghana that specialises in STEM subjects, developing the next generation of female leaders in business and applied sciences.

Thanks to the generosity of friends and family, including many fellow OWs, they raised over £8,000, comfortably surpassing their fundraising target.

On the day of the race temperatures hit 24 degrees, substantially warmer than Josh and Joe’s snow sprinkled winter training! Nonetheless, both OWs finished the race in good times although at present they have no plans to do another.
