MCS rounded off this half term with an outstanding afternoon of singing as a packed Big School enjoyed the traditional House Singing Competition.

The arrangements embraced composers as diverse as Stormzy and Katrina and the Waves and the audience enjoyed powerful performances from the whole house ensembles and acapella close harmonies from the small groups.

Mr Dan Robertson, Director of Music at Warwick School was the adjudicator and was most impressed by the standard of singing at the school.

Wilkinson House won the Small Group Competition with a beautiful version of ‘Wake Me Up’ by Avicii, Chavasse was in second place and Walker in third. The Whole House Competition was won by  Chavasse with a rousing and energetic version of the Kaiser Chiefs hit ‘I Predict a Riot’,  Wilkinson came second with ‘Walking on Sunshine’ and Leicester third with ‘Shine’.

A group of the teachers and support staff also took to the stage with a tribute to our MCS multi-award-winning OW Sir Sam Mendes as they sang an arrangement of ‘Skyfall’.

Our thanks to Mr Robertson and congratulations to everyone involved for making it such a superb event.
