Welcome to the Admissions section of the MCS website.
The Admissions team - Barberine Mallett (Registrar), Alexander Dance (Admissions Assistant), Claire Townsend (Assistant Registrar) and Emma Bolton (Assistant Registrar) - aim to make the admissions process as straightforward and enjoyable as possible for both the candidates and their parents. They are happy to discuss any questions you may have about admissions at any time.
MCS educates boys from the ages of 7 to 18 and girls in the Sixth Form. Pupils are normally admitted to the Junior School at 7 and to the Senior School at 11, 13 and 16. It may sometimes be possible to admit pupils into other years.
In this section of the website you will find details of our admissions process. The deadline for registration for entrance in September 2019 (or pre-tests for Year 9 entry from prep schools in 2021) is Wednesday 31 October 2018.

We are committed to admissions procedures which are fair, transparent and designed to reward potential, not merely attainment. We take a keen interest in the school reference, the wider interests of the pupil and any other applicable information.
The MCS papers and interviews are designed to explore the way in which each candidate thinks, helping us to assess overall promise. No special preparation is expected or required for the tests; most candidates finish their tests or interviews smiling.
We are also proud of our scholarship and bursary schemes. We are delighted to have been the first selective academic school in Oxfordshire to publish specimen entrance papers.
MCS is a day school and pupils are expected to reside during term-time with their parents in the family home in the vicinity of the school.
We hope that this section of the website will answer many of the questions you may have; but please also feel free to get in touch with the Registrar to discuss any aspect of the admissions process.
