It has been a productive term for the school’s hockey team, marked by steady performances and a notable milestone for our junior players. We are pleased to celebrate a significant achievement by the U11 squad, who recently secured their third consecutive County Cup title.

On Friday, 23rd January, the team travelled to the Oxford Hawks Hockey Club to compete against seven other schools from across Oxfordshire. They maintained a focused and composed presence throughout the day, finishing the tournament undefeated.

The defensive line was particularly effective, conceding only two goals across the entire event. This defensive solidity provided the foundation for a 2-0 victory against Moulsford in the final, confirming the team’s place as county champions.

Following this success, the team has earned a place in the South Central Regional Finals, which will be held at Reading Hockey Club on Tuesday, 10th March.

The squad also demonstrated their resilience in national competition this week. On Thursday, 5th February, they finished as runners-up in the IAPS (Independent Association of Prep Schools) Plate Final, further evidence of their consistent development this season.

To mark this achievement, the three captains who led the team to these successive victories, Ali (3rd Form), Hugh (2nd Form), and Leo have been invited to School House for a commemorative photograph. Their commitment to the sport reflects the wider efforts of the entire U11 squad.

We look forward to following their progress at the regional finals in March.
