The son of Gilbert Williams (preferred name Willy), Mr Chris Williams, informed MCS of the death of his father. He told us his father was 87 when he passed away on 1 March 2009 and been suffering from Alzheimer’s disease for some years.

His father regarded his securing scholarship entrance to MCS as one of the most important events in his life. After MCS, in his career as a foreign consultant, he visited 40 different countries.

In 1940-44 he was a pilot in Fleet Air HRM (Royal Navy). He was a 1st-class diver for the British Sub Aqua Club.

He retired and lived in Stockton-On-Tees.
