The Waynflete Office has been informed of the death of Bryan Humphris, aged 88. We are grateful for this obituary provided by his widow Angela:
Bryan gained his love and interest in rowing at school and it gave him a lifetime of enjoyment and friendship. He won his first cup at the Oxford Royal Regatta in 1955 rowing in the school 1st VIII in the junior eights, and his last cup in 2014 in the Oxford Masters. Over the years he became very involved with the Falcon Rowing and Canoe Club and enjoyed getting together an old boys eight now and again. He spent his working life in the family motor business in Oxford.
Bryan died suddenly in December and leaves behind Angela his wife of 64 years, his sons Matthew and Jonathan, four grandchildren and a great-grandson.
