Lucy (middle row, third from right) with the victorious Team GB U19 rowers
On 1 to 3 August, Lucy (incoming Upper Sixth) was selected to compete for the Team GB U19 rowing squad and represented her country at the Coupe de la Jeunesse regatta in Austria. The event, which has been running for nearly four decades, is a two-day international regatta that brings together the best junior rowers from rowing federations across Europe.
Alongside contributing towards a very successful triple-trophy weekend for Team GB, Lucy’s crew, the women’s coxless four, were fortunate enough to win two silver medals! Strong performances on the Saturday and Sunday saw their Team GB boat beat competitors from previous Coupe de la Jeunesse trophy winners France and Italy, but narrowly lost out to Poland on both occasions.
“It was an amazing experience of international racing that I learnt so much from."
