It was an honour to be joined by Professor Anthony Monaco, University Professor and President Emeritus, Tufts University, and father of Nick, OW 2018, at our annual prizegiving event last night – and to celebrate the many achievements of our talented pupils.

Applause pealed through a packed Big School, as governors, teachers, pupils and parents came together to mark the successes of the year past. A raft of prizes were awarded in art, music, sport, drama and academic subjects, with winners selected for their progress and contribution to school life alongside their individual achievements.

Huge congratulations to Arush, OW 2025, for being awarded the Commemoration Cup, as voted by the whole school community. Arush, whose five movement Requiem was premiered at the Sheldonian in March, will shortly start a degree course in Maths and Statistics at Warwick University, after securing excellent A level results this summer.

Congratulating award-winners, Professor Monaco paid tribute to their ‘extraordinary academic and community achievements’ and encouraged them to use the skills they had learned at MCS for the wider benefit of others.

Well done to all award-winners, we are very proud of you all.
