Magdalen College School’s iconic crease was the scene of an unforgettable fixture this week as we welcomed St Peter’s College Adelaide, Australia on their UK cricket tour.

In glorious summer conditions, the two sides played a high-quality, competitive match that was a true celebration of schoolboy cricket. The home side produced a commanding performance, scoring an impressive 397 runs, while our Australian guests responded valiantly with 300 runs of their own in a spirited chase.

The day was made even more special by a remarkable innings from Julian (Upper Sixth), who signed off his school cricketing career in style. In his final match for MCS, he scored a masterful 125, rounding off what has been a truly outstanding season. His performances throughout the summer have not gone unnoticed — Julian was recently awarded the Walter Lawrence Schools Trophy for his contributions and potential. Other notable performances came from Arthur and Alex – both Lower Sixth – who scored 70 and 50 runs respectively.

There was a fantastic spirit and plenty of sportsmanship between the two teams throughout the match. It was a privilege to host St Peter’s and we wish them the very best for the remainder of their tour.
