J3 pupils enjoyed a memorable trip to the Oxford Botanic Gardens this week – the UK’s oldest botanical gardens, located just across the river from their school playground. On a beautiful September day, the pupils took the short walk over  Magdalen Bridge to this historic site, home to over 5,000 plant species.

Led by one of the gardens’ expert plant specialists, the pupils participated in an interactive workshop inside the glasshouse. They had the chance to handle a variety of plants while learning about their unique properties, uses, and the exciting botanical research currently underway at the gardens.

The visit perfectly supported their science topic on plants this term, giving them a hands-on experience that connected classroom learning with real-world conservation efforts.
