The sweet sound of poetry filled The Studio this morning as our annual JS Poetry Competition took place.
This event followed a first-rate set of class heats, where pupils across the Junior School gave thoroughly impressive recitations of poems they had learned by heart. Three carefully selected finalists from each class treated an appreciative audience of teachers, parents, and peers to a marvellous morning of poetry on the day.
Hats off to Jerry Cai (Paper People Poem by Harry Baker) and Thomas Green (The Car Trip by Michael Rosen) who took the J1-2 and J3-4 crowns respectively!
We look forward to next year’s competition already!
