Yesterday, J2 pupils spent a busy afternoon building pyramids! This term, the pupils have studied Ancient Egypt in History with Miss Wiggins and have been working hard in the DT lab to create Tudor houses. This workshop provided the perfect opportunity to combine these skills into practice, a challenge they were more than keen to take on.
The activity began with pupils constructing small-scale models using chopsticks and elastic bands to understand the fundamentals of structural balance. Following this, they progressed to a much larger task: working together to build a single, square-based pyramid using metre-long wooden sticks.
The pupils completed the project with a high degree of focus, demonstrating how well they could coordinate as a whole year group. It was a fun and productive day that highlighted their ability to collaborate effectively.
