On Friday 20 June, over 500 pupils from Second Form to Lower Sixth took part in a sponsored walk on Founders’ Day to help raise funds for our international partner school, Mustardseed, in Uganda.

This event involved pupils in the Third Form, Lower Fourth, Upper Fourth and Lower Sixth walking as a community and raised over £6,000, including match-funding by Vernon Ellis OW. The route involved pupils traversing through the city centre, Port Meadow, North Oxford and University Park before returning to school.

Elsewhere, the Junior School hosted their own Founders’ Day celebrations, with the boys taking part in a variety of sponsored activities including an ‘beat the goalkeeper’ and a 1480-themed LEGO construction challenge, raising more than £1,600 in the process.

First opening in January 2022, Mustardseed is an eco-sustainable primary school designed to immerse pupils in nature. It is built entirely from materials mined on-site, all with a zero-carbon footprint. Watch the video below from last year’s appeal to learn more about one of Uganda’s most innovative schools.
