As ever, our choristers in the Magdalen College Choir performed Hymnus Eucharisticus to the crowds gathered below Magdalen Tower. A tradition dating back over 500 years, the hymn is sung from the top of the tower at 6.00 am to herald the beginning of May and kick off Oxford’s May Morning celebrations.
This year, over 16,000 people came to hear the choir sing, up from around 14,000 in 2024. The event is livestreamed by the College Choir each year, and this year’s event can be viewed here:
