On Friday 6th March, a powerful programme and distinguished speakers attracted over 200 pupils from 8 secondary schools to this annual Magdalen College School event, generously supported by Blackwell’s Bookshop. MCS Head of History, Dr Max Habsburg organised the conference and was delighted to see so many enthusiastic delegates from MCS partner schools.
"It was fascinating to listen to the scholars whose work we had previously read."Pupil delegate
Professor William Doyle (University of Bristol) engaged the audience with his talk ‘The French Revolution: the pivot of modern history’. Professor Michael Broers (University of Oxford) offered an insightful lecture on ‘The rise and fall of the Napoleonic Empire’.
"Our pupils all very much enjoyed the conference and found the programme useful too. Thank you for getting such high quality speakers and putting on such a good event."David Gimson, UCAS, Higher Attainers and Museum Lead, Cheney School
