We are delighted to once again be included in The Cricketer magazine’s Top 100 senior schools – recognising the quality and enjoyment of cricket throughout MCS.

As a focus sport at MCS, we have an extensive cricket set up and place as much emphasis on participation as on performance. Our experienced coaching team and resident cricket professional support pupils from J1 to Upper Sixth to develop their skills alongside a love for the game.
With around 16 teams playing on a regular basis, including a girls team in the Sixth Form, we aim to ensure as many pupils as possible have the chance to represent their school. We enjoy a thriving fixtures programme, with annual matches against the MCC and visiting teams from overseas.
We are very fortunate to have use of the fantastic wickets at Magdalen, Merton and Christchurch colleges, in addition to our own picturesque square on School Field. During winter, we make use of our indoor five lane portal and bowling machines – ensuring that players can develop year-round and arrive each season ready to perform.
We are also proud of our partnerships with Oxfordshire and Sussex County Pathway, EPP and Academy programmes, providing an additional layer of expertise to those pupils playing at a competitive level.
It is testament to all the hard work put in by pupils, staff and the wider community to make cricket here at MCS such a success year on year.
