In August, we were delighted to welcome back some very familiar faces to school this week, as a ‘cohort’ of former pupils reported at Cowley Place to support our forthcoming bursary fundraising drive.
The OWs – who left between 2021 and 2025 – played an important role in our 2025 telethon, raising vital funds to help ensure MCS continues to be a place of opportunity for young people who will flourish here, regardless of their family income.
Once again, the MCS community has been generous in supporting our pupils. Bursary fundraising remains our enduring priority and each year approximately 10% of Senior School pupils receives fee assistance. Each one has earned their place through their potential – and this year, all pupils in receipt of full bursaries achieved grade A* or A in all their A Level subjects.
Dylan, Elliot, Honor, Kaylan, Reva, Toby, Ben, Emily, Ted, Hannah, Anna and Thomas will be contacting members of the MCS community over the coming weeks with the aim of boosting support for the school bursary programme through one-off or regular gifts. To bolster the campaign, two generous donors have committed to giving £150 to the bursary fund for every new regular gift that we receive in the coming weeks.

Susie Baker, Director of the Waynflete Office, said: “Securing MCS as a place where young people from all backgrounds can flourish is so important and my thanks to all our donors who make this possible.”
If you would like to find out more, our bursary endowment page is here; or, to apply for a bursary, please take a look at our information online or join us at our Bursary Information Evening on Tuesday 7th October.
Thanks to the generosity of our community over the past two weeks, we are approaching the significant milestone of £200,000 raised for bursaries in our telethon.
Calling has finished but we’re not quite there yet. Your support could help us achieve this incredible goal in support of pupils at MCS.
Over the next two weeks, a generous donor will be doubling the impact of every gift to help get us over the line.
If you haven’t already given during our telethon, you can make a one-off or regular gift in support of bursaries at MCS here.
Every donation, whatever its size, ensures that MCS continues to be a place of opportunity for young people who will flourish here, regardless of their family income.
