The Waynflete Office has been informed by his daughter Sarah of the death of Tony Hill, aged 100. We send our deepest condolences to Sarah and Tony’s other family and friends.

Tony attended MCS from 1937–1943 and was an avid sportsman – both as Captain of Hockey and Secretary of Rugby. He was also Scout Troop Leader and Head Dayboy Prefect.

After MCS, he read Physics at Magdalen College Oxford. His varied career involved working at Procter & Gamble (on the team that invented Fairy liquid) and Lyons Maid where he oversaw several ice-cream factories across the UK.

In 1976, Tony moved to White Waltham village. Living here for 50 years, Tony was a stalwart in the village community. He was a founding member for the White Waltham Village Association and spent many years on the Parochial Church Council.

After retirement, Tony kept his passion for learning through gaining further A Levels, a Horticulture Diploma, Master’s degree and a Cordon Bleu cookery course. He remained integral in the White Waltham Village community and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
