Last Saturday, we were delighted to welcome back many Old Waynfletes to MCS for the annual OW Lunch, spanning seven decades of leavers.

Class of 1975 reunion at the OW Lunch 2025
Travelling from as far as the Czech Republic, Denmark and Germany, OWs enjoyed a festive lunch and reconnecting with old classmates and teachers. Some of our guests had not returned to school in 50 years! They enjoyed seeing the many changes on the site on school tours run by Mr Alan Cooper (Director of Alumni Relations) and Mr Peter McDonald (Director of Higher Education).

In particular, there was a strong turn out from the Class of 2015 and 1975 (pictured above) who marked their 10th and 50th anniversary since leaving MCS. This included Charlie, Daisy and Hugh (all OW 2015) who gave a careers talk to pupils the previous day about their lives 10-years after leaving MCS. We were also pleased to reunite the winning 1975 Youll Cup tennis team marking 50 years since their victory Wimbledon. This was kindly organised by Mr John Harrop.

As ever OWs were most grateful for the involvement of pupils in this special day. On Saturday, guests were treated to a folk music performance by pupils James (U6) and Sophie (U6), and Christmas puddings made by our junior school pupils.
It was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect, share memories, and celebrate these milestones. Organised by the Waynflete Office, the OW Lunch is one of many events organised for MCS alumni. Find out more about life after MCS here.
