Pupils continue to throw themselves into our extensive range of extra-curricular activities right up until they leave, pursuing their passions, developing new skills and building up their CVs in readiness for what lies ahead.
Sixth Form pupils have at least two Games sessions per week, making the most of the school’s excellent sports coaching and facilities to develop a high level of performance or play for exercise and pleasure.
Pupils are also involved in a dazzling array of musical, dramatic and artistic performances, and regularly take the lead in these activities. The Sixth Form musical in the Michaelmas Term is a highlight of both the Drama programme, while many pupils perform in at least one of our 70 annual musical concerts. As well as performance, pupils are encouraged to develop their talents as writers, directors and composers, with a number of pieces being staged by MCS in recent years.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards Scheme is offered at MCS, with Sixth Form pupils taking many leadership roles and showing grit and determination to accomplish a significant physical challenge in these two programmes.
"I wasn't so scared about making friends, because everyone is open to meeting new people. You know as soon as you walk into the Common Room that you're going to have fun here"
Izzy, Lower Sixth
Service is at the heart of our mission and all Lower Sixth pupils undertake a placement with one of partners – giving some 7,500 hours as a group across a typical year. Placements include volunteering at the Rose Hill Community Larder; leading Science, Maths or Reading clubs in local primary schools; or teaching local children a musical instrument.
From the moment you join MCS, you become part of a community made up of current pupils and parents as well as Old Waynfletes (former pupils), former parents and friends.
Old Waynfletes keep in touch and meet for many events throughout the year, including Christmas drinks for OWs in London and Oxford at which we look forward to seeing our recent leavers.

"What really struck me on day one was the Sixth Form team. They knew everybody's names already, and made sure we all relaxed. I really felt I could talk to them about anything from the first day"
Amelia, Lower Sixth
