The Waynflete Office has been informed by his daughter-in-law Sarah of the death of Terence Hollyoake at the age of 88. Over the years, Terence attended many OW events and shared memories from his time at MCS: from watching the 4-minute mile at Iffley Road, painting the 1928 Building, remembering igloos on School Field and CCF armouries in air raid shelters on Milham Ford. In particular, Terence was an avid rugby and was in the MCS 1st XV for three years. The team won every game in 1953, losing just one in 1954!

After MCS, Terence was conscripted to the army after the Second World War before working in the Civil Service. He later worked as a taxi driver and recalled driving Harold Wilson, Ted Heath and even Jim Callaghan.

We sent our deepest condolences to Terence’s family and friends, and hope to provide a full obituary soon.
