Health Centre

The Health Centre is a facility that is open for all pupils, staff and school visitors, offering services that include nursing care, emergency first aid and mental health support.

Open from 7.30 am until 6 pm Monday to Friday during term time, the MCS Health Centre is a private and safe space for those who require it. Three full-time Registered Nurses work closely with the wider pastoral and safeguarding teams to ensure that all visitors receive the care and/or support that they require. Pupils also have access to the school’s two counsellors; referrals may be sent via the Health Centre.

The Health Centre supports NHS/OBU Student Nurses for their community placement as part of their nursing degree course. Student Nurses are on duty for 30 hours per week, term time only, and are supervised in their training by the Registered Nurses employed at the centre.

• Management of illness and injuries
• Post-operative care
• Organisation of staff flu vaccines
• Providing support for all school trips
• Management and support of pupils with chronic and acute illness
• Management of individual health care plans
