Congratulations to our Lower Sixth pupils on their fabulous production of Marmaduke! at the Pegasus Theatre this week — a lively, joy-filled piece made even more special by ‘guest’ appearances from children at our partner schools: St Frideswide Primary School, Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School, St Christopher’s C of E Primary School and Bayards Hill Primary School.

Since September, the Sixth Form team has been visiting the schools each week as part of their community service programme, leading music and drama workshops inspired by the show. Through songs, movement and plenty of enthusiasm, the children learned key moments from the production and were able to form the musical chorus in the production.
The two performances of this brilliantly wacky musical provided a wonderful finale to a year of partnership, with everyone enjoying the opportunity to take part.
Written by MCS parent Carol Peaker, with an original score by Alex Thomas, MCS Head of Drama, Marmaduke! is bursting with energy, humour and musical misadventures. The story follows Noah as he is swept into the wonderfully chaotic world of Mouseland — alongside madcap inventor Marmaduke Mouse — providing the perfect setting for a great family show.
A huge well done to all of our Lower Sixth performers, musicians and the Pegasus technical team, whose commitment and creativity made this such a memorable experience. And thank you to our partner schools for bringing their energy and fun!
