We are delighted to announce that MCS has been commended as the Independent School of the Year for Outstanding Educational Partnerships at the Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2026. We are pleased to be one of the 14 Oxfordshire independent schools shortlisted in this year’s awards.

Partnership continues to be a key part of school life at MCS, and this year has been no exception. Throughout the year, pupils and staff have worked with schools, charities and community organisations across Oxford and beyond, with many school staff dedicating up to a quarter of their timetables to partnership activities.

This year’s partnership work included the STEM Horizons pilot, which shares specialist Computer Science teaching across local secondary schools, and OxCOP, which brought together 100 pupils from 18 schools to collaborate on climate solutions.

"At MCS, we speak of partnership rather than outreach, as we place a high value on the shared benefits of working with others."

Rohan Edwards, Deputy Head of Education Development

This commendation follows our success at the 2024 awards, when MCS was named Independent School of the Year for Contribution to Social Mobility in recognition of our bursary provision and The Bridge programme.

To discover how these relationships have developed over the past year, read our latest Partnerships Report, which showcases the projects, programmes and shared experiences made possible through collaboration.

Thank you to all our pupils, staff and partner organisations whose time, enthusiasm and commitment continue to make this work possible.
