MCS pupils and staff threw themselves into the festive spirit today – the final day of the Michaelmas term. From the Junior School to the Senior Team, the community adorned their best Christmas jumpers to raise money for our chosen charities – with every jumper worn equalling a £2 donation for Mustardseed Junior School and Oxford Samaritans.

Mustardseed Junior School is our international partner primary school in Sentema, Uganda. Having first opened in January 2022, this eco-sustainable primary school is designed to immerse pupils in nature and is built entirely from materials mined on-site with a zero carbon footprint.

Oxford Samaritans is the local branch of the Samaritans national charity, known for its phone-based support to people in distress. Samaritans’ vision is that fewer people die by suicide, and their helpline is open 24/7, 365 days a year.

Decked out for festive fun, the entire community tucked into Christmas lunch – with a whopping 1100 delicious servings prepared by our amazing catering team – before heading into the traditional Christmas quiz and assembly … topped off by a staff performance of Singin’ in the Rain that left us unsure whether to applaud or offer umbrellas!

Thank you and happy Christmas to all pupils, staff, and families who supported today’s jumper fundraiser, and for giving generously to our chosen charities throughout 2025 – helping us make a lasting difference to people in Oxford and beyond.
